Festival identity — 2026

Client: Kino Fjord Film Festival · Role: Identity, campaign, motion · Output: Identity system, 40 poster variants, title sequence
Nine days of film on a coast that never fully goes dark. The identity borrows the festival's real problem — projecting cinema in near-daylight — and turns it into the system: every asset is built from two exposures of the same frame, one for the bright hours, one for the dark.
Posters are generated in pairs. The daylight version runs pale, almost bleached; the night version is its negative. Around town they were pasted side by side, and the campaign's only headline sat in the seam between them.

The title sequence applies the same rule in time instead of space: each film's card crossfades between its two exposures at the real speed of the midnight sun.
"The first festival identity that understands our light." — programme director
